update
The second thing that I am working on right now is trying to get volunteers also for the proposal for the city I need 10 names of volunteers that want to help with the garden.
So far there is 6 still.
bye for now.
Movining on
So I am asking if anyone would like to take over organizing the community garden?
Let me know by email atrim880@hotmail.com otherwise this project may be on hold indefenatly.
HERE IS AN EMAIL I GOT FROM A NEIGHBOR INTERESTED IN THE COMMUNITY GARDEN IN RIVERBEND
We might not be able to get all this done for 2010 summer growing season.
In the meantime while all of this is being researched and comes together, time flies. So if you want to get started right now maybe
You should check this out. Last week I read a letter in the Herald that the community garden in front of the Midsun Community Center is being ignored.
The person who wrote the letter was asking for neighbors to get involved with this garden.
If they can’t get any interest from the people that live in Sundance and Midnapore then maybe people from other neighborhoods can join.

Some sites you may wish to review:
1,North of Holy Angels school> parking is good, irrigation on site, city owned
2 West end of Riverstone Park( as identified by Google)( at Riverstone Crescent SE).
3 Riverbend Drive at Riverbend Cres SE
All have pros and cons, things to consider:
Parking, Water, pathways, proximity to adjacent residents, land use at the present time

Sprouting
and I have been hooked on sprouting
ever since. It is a great way to have fresh greens in the winter as they don't need any sun. I have been experimenting with different seeds the best ones so far are mung beans, lentils and alfalfa. It is so easy to do all you have to remember to do is rinse I leave my jar by my kitchen sink then i rinse them with the dishes. I use the jar method because it is the easiest.
